Captain David Barlow presents winner Peter Harvey with the trophy
Sixty-eight seniors showed once again that you don't need a full set of clubs to enjoy a round of golf - some with more success than others.
Chief amongst them was Peter Harvey who managed to score 43 stableford points using a 3 hybrid, a 7 iron and a 52 degree wedge.
Peter is obviously on a roll of form as he also won the Senior Section's Swap Day at Stoke Rochford the day before.
In second place with 41 points was Michael Etwaroo and in third, also with 41 points, was Tom Walker.
Fourteen players scored 36 points or more including last year's winner Ian Simpson who scored a birdie on the 8th and an eagle on the 14th, thus qualifying him for two bites of the Twos Club cake.
The competition was not a handicap qualifier but it WAS a Golfer of the Year qualifier and resulted in a major shake-up of the leaderboard. The new leader, with 53 points is Andrew Fage. Following close behind are Peter Imray (47), Peter Harvey (45), Len Greaves (41) and Chris Dennis (41).
With two more qualifiers to come - the Autumn Stableford and the Bailiff Shield - it is still almost anyone's race.
Raffle prize winners, who each receive £10 in pro shop credit were Richard Newman, David Darby, Graham Lewis and Dave Wood.
