Winner: Past Captain Fred Williams receives his prize from Senior Captain Tony Lloyd
Seven Senior past captains and five guests made the trip to Peterborough Thorpe Wood for a memorable game of golf preceded by bacon rolls and coffee and rounded off with a two course meal.
The worthy winner was Fred Williams, with Richard Coventry in second place and David Barlow in third.
Winner of the Nearest the Pin prize was organiser Richard Coventry.
Announcing the results, Richard paid a special tribute to Alan Fowler, now in his 90th year and still playing amazing golf.
Earlier, on the course, most of the players from John O'Gaunt met an inquisitive visitor - a fox in search of lunch. We found that he wasn't fond of banana but loved a cereal bar.
Rafe Bateson was so taken with the animal that he accidentally hit the button on his trolley and ended up in a bunker.
Finally, after a meal of hunter's chicken and sticky toffee pudding the prizes were awarded. And last, but not least, Richard Coventry, who is stepping down from his role as organiser of this event and the much larger Seniors Away Day, was presented with a bottle of wine for his hard work over the past few years.
