Seniors Captain Richard Westergreen-Thorne presents Warren Churms with the Martin Ives Trophy for best individual stableford score
The weather was the clear winner when 78 Seniors joined battle for the first of our "Autumn Swing" competitions = the Gordon Percival Team Trophy.
The competition - in which secret teams are revealed once play has begun - had already been switched from the John O'Gaunt Course after prolonged rainfall in the preceding few days.
And the dire forecast didn't take long to materialise, with most entrants battling heavy rainfall.
Not all completed the course as the greens began to flood towards mid-afternoon.
But, as ever, some recorded impressive scores despite the challenging conditions.
Warren Churms recorded the highest individual stableford score of 39 points to take the Martin Ives Trophy.
In second place, on 38 points, was Chris Saunders and third, also on 38 points, was Jeevie Jeeves.
The Gordon Percival Team Trophy was won by Graham Gadsden, Bill Conway and John Hazelwood with a total score of 101.
The result leaves Cavan Kendall leading the Golfer of the Year Leaderboard on 54 points, Graham Gadsden on 53, Jed Isbell on 48, Geoff Scott on 47 and Paul Jones on 44. But with two more GOTY qualifiers to come, the race is by no means over.
Raffle prizes were won by Graham Berry, Anthony McLean, Richard Coventry and Michael Bonwick. £10 will be added to each of their pro shop accounts.
