Gordon Percival Team Trophy October 3 2023

 A hole in one in a seniors competition is a rare event. But Chris Walker achieved a first in the Gordon Percival Team Trophy by scoring a hole in one with a 100-year-old hickory club.

Chris asked if he could play with his hickory clubs as he was preparing for an upcoming event run by the British Golf Collectors Society. He achieved the feat on the John O’Gaunt 16th. Sadly he was not in the Twos Club!

Eighty-six golfers took part in the Gordon Percival where hidden teams of three are revealed at the end of the competition.

The trophy was won by Chris Saunders, Phil Armstrong and Terry Domagala who scored a total of 98 Stableford points between them.

The winner of the Martin Ives Trophy for the best individual score was Phil Odell with 38 points. In second place with 37 points was Paul Jones, followed by Rob Ebsworth on 36 points.

Raffle prizes were won by David Crosby, John Whitbread, Paul Dobson and David Evans. £10 each will be put in their pro shop accounts.
