The weather for our away match against Letchworth was cloudy, hot and humid with sunny periods - a pleasant day for golf.
The course was dry, as you would expect after the prolonged heatwave, but the greens were in extremely good condition.
I went out first with Seniors Captain Algy Grimes and, although we had a most enjoyable game, we just lost by one to a very strong opposition.
Overall the JoG team lost 5 1/2 to 2 1/2 with wins for Bob Anderson and Andy Shilton 2 and 1 and Jim Kerr and Chris Roy 1 up. Jack Shepherd and Nick Seeley halved their match and all the others lost.
Lunch was a very nice cold buffet followed by strawberry dessert which went down very well and wine was supplied on the table. The hospitality was first class and enjoyed by all.
