The weather forecast was dire ... and, for once, it was accurate.
Ninety-two seniors dug out their best waterproofs and prepared for a very soggy round of golf.
Around 20 players even made it as far as the fourth hole before Nigel Broadwith came to the rescue and, with the Carthagena greens beginning to flood, closed the course.
The smiles were evident on the faces of those in the car park preparing to go out as they packed away their gear and headed into the clubhouse for a welcome cuppa.
Well done to Peter Jarman who scored 12 points before the competition was abandoned. The blog salutes you!
