Seniors’ AGM Tuesday February 13 2024

Jonathan Lean presents Sarah Phillips from Keech Hospice Care with a cheque for  £8,107.60

FORTY-SIX members  of the Senior Section gathered in the Burgoyne suite to witness the “changing of the guard” at the AGM.
Retiring Captain Jonathan Lean bowed out with a touching speech about his chosen charity, Keech Hospice Care, backed up by a cheque for £8,107.60, the most ever raised for charity by a senior section Captain.
Reports were presented by Captain Jonathan, Honorary Secretary Richard Westergreen-Thorne, Competition Secretary Tony Lloyd, Match Secretary Andy Shilton (read by Algy Grimes) and Treasurer Barry Donovan. The accounts were accepted by the meeting and Trevor Darrington was appointed Auditor.
Then on to the appointment of Officers for 2024: Captain Richard Westergreen-Thorne, Vice-Captain and Honorary Secretary Tony Lloyd, Competition Secretary Jonathan Lean, Match Secretary Algy Grimes and Treasurer Barry Donovan.
In keeping with tradition, the retiring captain presented Richard with his Captain’s sweater and Richard presented Jonathan with a signed card from Senior members accompanied by a retirement gift.
After brief addresses by the new officers the members agreed a proposal to recruit two additional members to the Senior Section Committee.
