On Tuesday March 12th we held our annual
four ball better ball competition. I think it would be fair to say that the
early starters had the best of the weather, having only gale force winds to
contend with. Those of us starting a little later had the added pleasure of
heavy rain to brighten our day. However 68 brave souls took to the fairways.
Ex Seniors Captain Fred Williams won the nearest the pin
competition, whilst the winners were Gordon Goodchild and Peter Jarman with 48
points narrowly beating Harry Wakefield and Clive Thompson who finished with 47
points.
Out of the 34 pairs that started 12 scored better than 40 points an
admirable achievement considering the conditions.
