A bright and sunny morning greeted the early starters in
this competition although the temperatures were quite low. This bright start
didn’t last long however, and it was not long before the cloud rolled in and the
wind became brisk which did nothing to encourage high scoring.
In the conditions John O’Gaunt was playing long so keeping
straight was the order of the day. In spite of the difficult conditions two
pairs got to level par or better, so congratulations must go to our runners up Bill
Burrows and Joan Cocksedge with 36 points and special praise to our winners
Marion Cooper and Michael Newstead with 37 points.
Sue Lee won the ladies nearest the pin and Colin Smith won for the men.
Overall 40 pairs took part in the competition.
