The Bailiff Shield - 26th September 2017

A mainly overcast but fairly warm morning greeted the 77 senior competitors aiming to win the Bailiff Shield held by Hon Sec David Crosby for the last two years.

The greens presented difficulties and the Carthagena rough was testing.

Organiser Bernard Gurney just missed out on the prizes in 4th place with a creditable 38 points.

It was nip and tuck at the top of the leader board as the final few players impacted on the best scores.

Third place - Jonathan Lean
Second place - Peter Imray

Winner - George Turner
Having been clubhouse leader for some time Jonathon Lean came third on countback with 39 points off handicap 18 and cut .9.

In second place on count back with 13 points over the last 6 holes was habitual winner (this year) Peter Imray playing off handicap 10 and cut .6.

In first place (and another previous winner of this competition) was George Turner with 40 points playing off handicap 19 and cut 1.2
