2 Clubs and a Putter Stableford - 10th October 2017

Only 47 players competed for this “fun” competition on a cool and overcast morning on the Carthagena course. Organiser Chris Roy quipped it’s like Marmite, you either enjoy the novelty and fun of trying to play the course without access to all the clubs in the bag or you hate the idea. The trick is to pick the best two clubs to suit your style. It’s not much fun trying to get out of a bunker with a long iron or to chip over a bunker with a wood!

Anyway the players stayed dry and generally enjoyed the challenge and some clearly adapted the clubs very well to record decent scores. Others struggled! The raffle raised about £200.00 which is being donated to the Breast Cancer charity.

In 3rd place was Michael Tomblin (a previous winner of the comp) playing off 17 with 35 points.

Third Place Michael Tomblin
In 2nd place was John Sandland playing off 19 with 36 points.

Second Place - John Sandland
The winner of The Trophy was Mike Marshall also playing off 19 with an excellent 37 points.

Winner - Mike Marshall
