The Senior Section marked the "changing of the guard" in the Burgoyne Suite on Tuesday February 3 when over 50 members gathered for the 2025 annual general meeting.
Retiring Captain Tony Lloyd opened proceedings with an address that paid tribute to his colleagues on the Senior Section Committee.
He singled out Richard Westergreen-Thorne for special praise as Richard stepped down from the committee after eight years.
Richard - renowned for his love of green tea - was presented with 300 green tea bags, a box of Pro V1s and a framed citation marking his service to the Senior Section.
Handing over the reins to David Barlow, Tony presented David with his 2026 Captain's pullover.
Then for the moment everyone had been waiting for - the announcement of David's Vice Captain. Congratulations to anyone who guessed David's choice - Terry Domagala.
In another surprise highlight, David paid tribute to Gordon Goodchild who has decided to hang up his golf shoes after many years with the Senior Section. David presented Gordon with two bottles of wine and a framed citation.
