Seniors Arthur Lucas Cup (Bring and Win) Tuesday November 16 2021

Seniors Vice Captain Algy Grimes with winner Andy Shilton

Christmas started early for the 60 seniors taking part in the Arthur Lucas Cup, with a table laden with goodies and a guaranteed prize for everyone.

A two-tee start enabled everyone to get together in the clubhouse without waiting too long to share the spoils.

The day began with a sharp frost, but by the time most teed off it had turned into a very pleasant Autumn day.

Congratulations to winner Andy Shilton who romped home with 40 points, including two birdies and nine pars.  His playing partners were quick to point out that Andy's standout hole was the par 3 13th on Carthagena where his drive ended up beside the 7th tee box, his second just reached the green and he sank a 40ft putt for par. That's how to win!

In second place, with 38 points, was “new recruit” Paul Life playing his first competition with the seniors and in third and fourth place respectively, also with 38 points, were Ralph Black and Rob Anderson.

In second place: new senior Paul Life

Third place: Ralph Black

Fourth place: Rob Anderson

Full house: seniors gather after the competition for the prizegiving
